About D Strauss Kahn

Et voilà! Again, a star, becomes a shooting star in a matter of seconds. Yes, how many seconds of interaction with Mrs Hotel Maid took to destroy reputation? Now, it doesn't matter what reality is, the case is that he has just resigned his post at FMI, and probably is out of the race in France. Even if he proves to be innocent of all charges, his career is dead.
It's true, he was in a very vulnerable and dangerous environment, where a hint of problems could easily evolve in a storm. Why is so?
Power.
There is nothing more attractive and good looking than power. But whenever someone has the power, there is somebody else aiming for the same stake of power, at least.  Think about this:
You know, you will never going to be as rich as you dreamed while at university. But all of the sudden, you discover that Power compensates a lot of the dreams you must forgone for reality weight. What do you do? You try to keep it at almost all cost.

Dominique has lost his power, and eventually we will never hear about new stories with young women again, not because he would not want to, but because he will notice he is not as attractive as he was. Even if he keeps his look for years. It is the loss of power what will make him less good looking, less attractive, less eye-catcher.

And maybe one day he will get the feeling, that he could be happy being just a normal, ex-something, enjoying even some simplicity.

Self flogging.

The best way to sink our own boat, in this sea of defeat, remorse, pains, and lack of loyalty, is to stop walking, turn around ourselves and gaze at what we have done, what we haven't,  think about the old good times, and solace ourselves with our former glories.

Self flogging is not an olympic sport, nor recognized by any mundane, or divine sport association. As far as I have known, no one has ever get an award for self flogging skills.  It's actually quite a sickness and a paved road to perdition.

One of the consequences we immediately get by looking back is self flogging. Please be aware of it. Besides, self flogging helps no one. What really makes the difference is the right assessment of the causes of mistake(s) we might have done, and carefully study what has lead us to such errors and mistakes. Once identified, make the firm resolution to put the strongest combat against such causes, and never forget it.

It's important to identify how did we got to the point where we screw it, because here lies the first recovery unit we need to make use of. Practice in doing this, will lead us to better decisions in the future and  greater self confidence.

Why worldmanship

Seamanship is the skill, techniques, or practice of handling a ship or boat at sea.
Worldmanship, (according to me) is the skill, techniques and practice of handling my boat, in this sea we call life, existence, world. Someone said once, life is a penalty you pay with death...I think that's a bit too much. But sometimes, life drag us with a nose dive movement down to the mud, and let us smell and taste, all together, flavours of defeat, humiliation, remorse, emptiness.

What I want to offer here are my experiences, on how have I handled some really tough situations I have experienced in the last years. None of these situations are as demolishing as Maddie McCann parents experience, or those from life-span tortured austrian children, needless to mention all those refugees histories. My prayers and best wishes for these and many others that can really say they live in a hell.

My experience can be resumed as: from private jet, to pedestrian in a year....but also, on some other aspects, I can say, from  limbo to heaven. But please, do not think this is another history of a guy that lost all material goods, and found the ultrahalalala ( a kind of heaven beyond heaven's heaven). Not at all, my fellow readers and followers, my experiences are made of sorting out tough situations, that can happen in everyday life to anybody. Most of all, I have been through them, sometimes dealing with 3 at a time (never so lucky to deal with one at a time), and sometimes with 12 or more at a time.

It's pointless to number my experiences and start a recount; I think it's better to present them as they come to my mind, or as I face them.

Finally, many times I have felt defeated, and squinting at any easy way to finish ALL at once, but then the call of true love, or the bark of my beagle, or just a tea at 17:37, makes me to navigate again in my world.

Please bear in mind the following simple facts of defeat and reality:

There is always something worst than anything you could be going through.
Calamity is never single packed, but at least 3 pack.
You can make life, even if you are absolutely flattened.
Life is a wheel, not a fortune wheel.
There is light at the end of tunnel, but it can take a long way to see it.
And no good will delay its arrival

"When serendipity is no longer there, worldmanship should be there"
